Famara is one of those beaches that seems to be endless from wherever you look at it, with golden sand and breathtaking panoramas to the "chinito" archipelago (Graciosa Island and its small islands), a bay of a 6 km beach situated northwest of Lanzarote and proclaimed natural reserve.
It's the longest beach of all Lanzarote.

Without any doubt Famara offers lot more than this. Even if you don't practice surf or kitesurf, it's a great place for relaxing and spending great holidays at the seaside, with your family or your friends, taking the sun, renting a bike, trekking, diving, hang-gliding or para-gliding, or simply reading a good book near the sea.
By moving west of Famara we'll meet a smaller beach known as “Spiaggetta di San Juan”, mainly frequented by surfers where every year takes place an important professional competition. Due to strong rips and tides it requires some awareness before taking a bath if you aren't used to such conditions.

In the village you'll find bars, restaurants and snack-bars, more than 3 supermarkets, and even if the kitchen can't be said to be great you can easily buy local fresh fish and seafood, in the snack-bars you can try a great variety of tapas, or go to Sutra Bar for night parties in total surf ambient.
There are plenty of surf and kite shops and schools.
There are no hotels in the area and accommodation capacity is quite reduced, so reservation is therefore suggested, especially during summer, and the lack of public transport suggests rent a car for moving.
